Talmit's Adventure (Namco, 1992)

Talmit's Adventure (known in other regions such as Marvel Land ) was a platform for lifelong launched in 92 by Namco for Sega Megadrive him. It was difficult to stand out in a genre so trite and which had, by then, games like the first 2 parts of Sonic, but the fact is that the overall impression of everyone who has tried has been positive and the game continues being reminded on a small scale.

The argument is almost always. Prince who must save a princess, visiting different worlds, here are the different areas of a gigatesco park, the King Mole malvadísimo, pretede win by prisoners, all the fairies who protected him. Best intro I put here:

From here begins the adventure and have plenty more crumbs than you can imagine seeing the game for the first time.

is because the graphics are not much, but at least the scenarios are original. The sounds and melodies meet but do not have the charisma of the other great games we all knew. At first glance it seems that it is business as usual, jumping to eliminate enemies and reach the final, but each scenario holds many secrets as doors and passageways that can save you a good way to reach the final. Well, then go to that.

handle our prince of colorful scenarios, having to recored each world with its 7 phases while the typical henchmen (or not so typical because some are quite bizarre) to stop threatening us achieve our Obet. We have many items to collect, such as wings, which allow us to fly for a while and address or road, or reach inaccessible areas. We also have a sort of human chain formed by shadows of nustro hero that we can use as a weapon to mow down the enemies, balanced for some areas or use it to shoot down any element of the stage and come to some area. And finally there are the points that reaching a certain amount they give us extra lives (or items that are extra lives, directly.) We also have a strange item with the letter L that is 5000 points, or foods such as soft drinks and ice cream also will give us points, although to a lesser extent. At the end of each phase have to go through a target and as we move closer to the center, the more points you get. Something like what the flag of the Super Mario Bros.

Enemies Bizarre, I say ...

Upon reaching the final stage of each scenario will be bumps to the head of the area minujuegos fun. The first is the typical game pallel Scissors Stone, the second a game where you have to blow up a water balloon and blow it against our opponent ... pretty funny. At the end of each boss, liberábamos the elf in question, give us a kiss blushed and we had a bonus stage where you go collecting falling stars and get extra points. And so to the evil boss faced Rat. In between there were some steps that were a roller coaster that took us to the end, having to avoid falling or that the enemies we eliminated.

The grace of the game was on stage with doors that had transported us or to other parts of the same stage or at different stages. 3 worlds could go ahead or we could go back depending on the door escogiésemos. Also had points in each phase that if you spent something like invisible portals teleport you to go through them, I had to another part of this phase or later many worlds ... or backward. There was the grace of the game, because if you knew that your shortcut ends up in the final without recorrértelo everything. I played both the game in the end I knew all the shortcuts possible acabármelo above, some very well hidden. As one, in which you had to throw you under vacuum and when you thought you were going to take a life elsewhere appeared in many stages forward. It was good to show off, and both assume everyone who played just asking that the game is over, and with it, I had a few times.

Bonus phases, which are more a tribute to Namco.

We can say that this is a resultón title that will enter in almost all the topics of gender, has something of substance. I have fond memories and that's why I share it here, if anyone is encouraged that you take a practice match, worth.

Thompson's Water Seal For Swing Set

Turbo Out Run (Sega, 1989)

Out-Run Turbo is the sequel to the legendary arcade driving that caused a sensation in the arcades 3 years earlier. Like all sequels, the game was to incorporate a number of innovations that we will detail. But equally, it is the same: the Ferrari is the girl too and we must travel the U.S. to milk all arriving in time to each checkpoint.

Before going into detail, I must comment that I will refer to a greater extent and in my experience, the domestic version of the video game released for the Sega Mega Drive (and hence retain the cartridge) that it was still the same but with the graphical limitations, sound and sensation of speed that often lead to such conversions. Similarly, it was a video game that I played a lot and since there was no game modes and much more to do than play a game of a lifetime, it squeezed. There was in fact more conversions for the platforms of the moment.

In the beginning we started poorly: no selector of tunes to accompany us on our journey, the mythical radio, mecachis. Well, nothing, the girl we better, we thought. It shows a U.S. map, we'll have to cross from one side to another in our ferrari, and we see how we can choose the automatic and manual. We always opted for the automatic and let us complications.

started the game in New York, we fasten our seatbelts, and paste the sprint and we meet with several new features over its predecessor: the bottom of the screen we see a bar that used to turbo it, give it more speed our car. If Out Run and was a fast game now with the turbo can paste accelerations life to save us and make us reach the checkpoints before we run out of time. Of course, the turbo was its limited nature, is heating up with overuse and we had to wait to use it if it abusábamos, but gave to a lot. So now we had a turbo button to add the other 2, but the game was essentially still the same, but the fire coming out of our car was amusing to show off.

Then we realize that we came out of nowhere the police and hinders us a while trying to block us out of our way or the highway. Let's say it goes a step beyond the trucks or vehicles that you can normally hit: now there is a car thoroughly annoys you and what better to put the police as our enemy to give a hint of risk and excitement adventure. For this reason, the cops from time to time appears to touching the eggs, but nothing more.

Okay, now let's get it all. The game consisted of 16 stages, 16 cities to go through at full speed and every 4 had an intermediate stage, where even left a band playing and all (¿?)- where we could tune our car. Perfect, because it gave us escocger between high-grip tires, a more powerful engine and a special turbo cool more quickly. Of course, this is all very well when you know the stages ahead, but first change your pick at random what you will use. Hence it was amusing replayability and find combinations depending on what comes best to each phase conujunto. Also I must say that those mythic Run Out forks have disappeared here and there will be different routes. A shame because this, together with the turbo and the car set-up would have increased the possibilities of the game.

Most importantly, this game really had a rival: a white Porsche 911 racing us to see who was coming before the goal, to Los Angeles. This was curious, because each intermediate (in 4 stages) had a sink and if our opponents came before us was taking the girl and saw how the girl left our car to get to yours. Even then, if for example we got the following intermediate before us than the Porsche, the recuperated and came to our car. I was curious the matter and already incorporated the bottom with a rival and the fact of trying to reach our ultimate goal girl, that's what it was.

Turbo Out Run is not a bad game and the 16-bit version of Sega was apañadita. Has more grace the arcade but I fear that despite the news did not reach the level of excellence of its predecessor. Forks and the melodies are insustituiobles ... However, it is a game that now it should rescue emulators, a somewhat forgotten sequel but with its crumb and the grace to not only be on time for each phase, but to compete directly with a Porsche. Graphically apañadito and made with care, fun, the end of the day. A good sequel.

That was the game: Arcade
